Columbus County court-record questions normally belong with the court system, not this private reference site. The Clerk of Superior Court maintains the local record for Superior Court and District Court matters, while the North Carolina eCourts Portal supplies public online Case Summary and hearing-search access. Use the clerk for certified copies, paper files, and local records questions. Use the court office or Portal to verify a setting. The contact details below identify the appropriate official path for a Columbus County docket, court date, or case record.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. This private reference site cannot obtain files, alter a calendar setting, seal a case, issue a certified record, or give legal advice. Those matters must be directed to the Columbus County Clerk of Superior Court or the court that controls the case.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

The following routes apply to the official records and court services most often requested in Columbus County:

  • A public Case Summary: use the Docket Search route to the North Carolina eCourts Portal, then open the linked case number
  • A court date or hearing: check the Court Schedule information, Search Hearings, and then verify with the court office or clerk
  • A certified copy or certificate: request it from the Clerk of Superior Court, which keeps the local official record
  • A particular case: search by the party name or complete case number in the Portal and select Columbus County when narrowing results
  • A document or paper file: consult Court Case Records and ask the clerk about access, copies, or restrictions

For Columbus-filed dockets and records, contact the Columbus County Clerk of Superior Court, the elected clerk office led by Jess Hill, at the Columbus County Courthouse, 100 Courthouse Circle, Whiteville, NC 28472. The mailing address is PO Box 1587, Whiteville, NC 28472. The clerk's main number is (910) 641-4400; normal public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For court assignment or current-calendar questions that the Portal does not resolve, call before visiting because the courthouse campus has more than one building.

A certified court record must come from the clerk, not the Portal. Under G.S. 7A-308, a document copy is $2 for its first page and $0.25 for each additional page or fraction, and a certificate under seal is $3. Confirm the required service and current total with the clerk before requesting or sending payment.
